University of the People Scholarships

University of the People (UoPeople) is the world’s first non-profit, tuition-free, accredited online academic institution dedicated to opening access to higher education globally for all qualified individuals, despite financial, geographic or societal constraints.

With its tuition-free online programs, University of the People is opening access to higher education for all those constrained, as well as building a scalable and replicable model capable of changing the very nature of higher education. The non-profit UoPeople has managed to succeed in cutting down almost the entire cost of higher education, and does not charge for tuition or books/materials. All that is asked is for students to pay a one-time application processing fee ($50) and subsequent modest examination processing fees ($100) levied per course. There are no other fees whatsoever.

For students unable to pay the Exam Processing Fees, UoPeople works extremely hard to ensure that no student of UoPeople is left out of higher education for financial reasons. Students are invited to apply for scholarships after being admitted to the university and completing a scholarship application form. UoPeople remains committed to its mission of democratizing higher education.

MICROSOFT 4AFRIKA
University of the People and Microsoft 4Afrika have partnered to offer scholarships to students wishing to study towards an Associate's Degree with UoPeople. Through this program UoPeople and Microsoft will support 1,000 Africanstudents to graduate with a world-class academic degree from UoPeople, helping to change the lives of the students, their families and communities and ultimately transforming the continent. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible to further enhance their skills and experience through participation in additional support programs, including professional training from Microsoft, mentorship by Microsoft employees,  internships, and job opportunities with Microsoft and their affiliates in Africa.

Applicants, ages 18-34, from all African countries are invited to apply for this exciting scholarship opportunity to study towards their associate degree, supported by Microsoft.  Interested applicants should first complete the UoPeople online application. Upon admittance to UoPeople, applicants will be invited to submit a request for financial aid from the Microsoft 4Afrika scholarship program.

HP SCHOLARSHIPS
The HP Women’s Scholarship Fund, unveiled at DLDWomen12, offers two-year scholarships to 100 female students at University of the People (UoPeople) enabling them to study towards an Associate degree in a program of their choice.

Students who are awarded a scholarship also have access to mentoring support from HP employees.  These HP mentors provide UoPeople students with invaluable guidance and support, enriching their academic learning experience and playing a pivotal role in preparing them for employment after graduation. The mentors are an integral part of the support students receive in this program.

Accepted female applicants are encouraged to apply for the HP Scholarship & Mentoring program during the Confirmation of Admission process, before beginning their studies with UoPeople.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
University of the People is based on the belief that education at a minimal cost is a basic right for all individuals, not just for a privileged few.  The University opens the gates of higher education to qualified students anywhere in the world by offering its programs through distance learning and by making this opportunity affordable. If you are accepted to study at UoPeople, but you cannot find any suitable designated scholarships, you may apply for a University Scholarship. This fund was specifically created to help students that are still in financial need because, for one reason or another, they were unable to successfully utilize the other funds or financial tools we have available.
